How to Care for your Pottery

All of Clay Impression pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
However, while the handmade pottery is very durable, in order to keep them looking their best for a very long time, I have prepared a few tips to prolong the life of your pieces.
Washing:
-
The best care will consist of hand-washing with mild soap and warm water, rinsing, and drying properly. Avoid using abrasive sponges or scrubbers.
-
Keep in mind when using the dishwasher, especially when there are delicate features that might get chipped as things move around in the wash cycle.
-
Unglazed pieces can take on stains over time. To avoid this, wash the piece as soon as possible and do not allow liquid to sit in it for a long period of time (especially coffee or wine).
-
Provide proper storage for your pottery to avoid chips, cracks, or breaks. Never stack your ceramics as it can damage the rims.
Heating:
-
Microwaving should not affect your pottery. However, abrupt temperature changes (freezer to microwave) should be avoided.
-
Do not microwave any pottery that has gold or metallic glazes on it.
